FW 1.6.0 Changelog

Preloading system

Probably one of the most desired features for the Omega I60.

The Preloading System allows the user to preload up to 4 different spools, keeping them in optimal humidity and temperature conditions.

With this new system, the printer reads the G-code file before printing, inserting the necessary material into the printhead only when it is truly needed for printing. Once the print is complete, the material is extracted from the printhead and automatically returns to the Preloaded position, ready to print again.

This new feature allows all materials to be stored within the MOS, without exposing them to moisture in the Bowden tube. Additionally, it reduces the time for several routines (such as the cleaning routine) while simultaneously minimizing the possibility of measurement errors due to material blobs in the hotend tip.

FRS with Automatic spool swap

Along with the Preloading System, we have also unlocked a new feature: FRS - Automatic spool swap.

When the FRS (Filament Runout Sensor) is triggered during a print, it will send a signal to the printer to automatically unload the finished spool and load the new spool from the adjacent bay.

The print will continue and complete without any user intervention required.

To work correctly, the user must have previously loaded the same material into the adjacent bay.

Error screens for Preloading System

If for any reason the filament remains loaded in the printhead and does not return to its Preloaded position, the screen will display a warning while executing the routine to allow for the material to be unloaded. This ensures that all materials are always in the Preload position.

On the other hand, if the user removes or inserts the filament without executing the correct routine, a warning message will be displayed on the screen. For proper operation, it is essential to always run the routine from the screen before removing or inserting the filament.

Routines speed and time optimization

With the preloading system, there is no material loaded in the printhead when measurement and calibration tasks are being performed.

The risk of material blobs at the tip of the hotend is minimal, consequently the hotend cleaning routine has been optimized to perform faster movements and eliminate the cooling time that was previously necessary.

Black screen error

Mesh (4)

In this new version, the issue that occurred when resetting the printer, where it displayed a black screen, has been resolved. The printer now has a system to correct this error and continue with the system startup, allowing access to the main screen menu without problems.

Print head hotend tip information

The printheads menu has been updated to include information about the serial number and the diameter of the installed hotend tip.
