WARNING!
Please carefully read this information.
Version 1.7.0 includes important changes in the use of Custom or 3rd party filaments. It also includes changes that enable High Speed printing. For these reasons, it is essential to update both the firmware version and the Stratos slicing software.
If you have any questions, please contact the BCN3D support team before taking any action.
Please update the firmware version of your Omega I60 printer by following the steps outlined in this video:
Download the update files from the following links:

FW 1.7.0 Changelog
High Speed printing
*It is crucial to update both the embedded fw 1.7.0 and the peripherals board v2.8.0.
K Factor - Pressure advance
For custom materials, from the load screen, it is possible to adjust the linear advance factor K, also known as pressure advance.
* In this article, we explain how to adjust this value and the recommended range to keep it within.
How to set the K-factor for Pressure Advance
High Flow nozzles (0.4HF and 0.6HF)
To print in High Speed, it is necessary to use the new High Flow nozzles. Without them, it is not possible to achieve an adequate printing flow at high speeds.
To purchase the new High Flow nozzles, please contact the BCN3D support team. support@bcn3d.com
The nozzle change menu has been updated to include the new references.
Load Custom filament with Material ID
In this new version, it is now possible to add a unique identifier or custom name for each custom material. When loading a custom material, you can enter an identifying name or "alias."
This allows up to four different custom materials to be loaded, and the printer can accurately identify which material is to be used for printing, regardless of the MOS bay in which it is loaded.
* Refer to the following article, where we explain how to load the custom material and configure it in the BCN3D Stratos slicer so that it is correctly identified.
How to properly use custom materials
Preheat the heated chamber before starting the print.
Warping issues have been identified in parts printed with technical materials.
For this reason, preheating of the heated chamber has been enabled before starting the print. When a print is initiated, the printer will check the target chamber temperature and will not begin printing until at least 80% of the predefined temperature has been reached.
The heated chamber temperature can be set as usual during slicing, using BCN3D Stratos.
*There is also an option to disable this preheating wait time from the Technical Service Mode menu.
Rewind spool after print
The following notice has been added to remind the user that after completing a print, it is advisable to manually rotate the spool to take up the filament that has returned to the preload position.
(OFN) Open Filament Network - New materials
The Omega I60 is open to third-party materials.
The OFN includes print profiles for third-party filaments that BCN3D has collaborated on to obtain optimal printing parameters for perfect results.
Four new materials have been added to the BCN3D Omega I60 OFN.
- ASA - Smart Materials
- ABS/ PC
- Polycast - Polymaker
- Polysupport - Polymaker
These new materials are now easily selectable both in the BCN3D Stratos slicer and on the Omega I60 printer’s load screen.
