[Maintenance](https://support.bcn3d.com/knowledge/sigma-sigmax?hsLang=en#maintenance) # How to clean and lubricate the axes (BCN3D Sigma) ## Cleaning and lubricating the axes you will ensure a good movement between mechanical elements   It is recommended to clean and grease the axes of the Sigma with the lubrication kit periodically,  to ensure a smooth and precise performance of its mechanical components. Make sure to check our [BCN3D Sigma maintenance plan](https://support.bcn3d.com/knowledge/maintenance-plan-bcn3d-sigma?hsLang=en) Bellow you will find a detailed step by step guide on how to lubricate and clean the axes of your printer. From the LCD screen, go to *Utilities /Maintenance/Move* *printing surface*. Lower the platform to the lowest position to work more comfortably. Next, clean the shaft bars with the solvent pencil, making sure that it does not drip. Once that's done, clean grease and dust from the Z-axis motor spindle with paper or a cloth. Raise and lower the platform twice to evenly distribute the oil and grease. First of all, turn off the Sigma.
