      How to update the firmware (BCN3D Sigma)

      It's important to keep your printer updated to be able to use the latest implemented features, and avoid possible compatibility issues with Cura.

      You can download BCN3D Cura here.

      Automatic printer update

      Use the USB cable to connect the Sigma to the computer. Then, open BCN3D Cura, and go to: 

      • Settings --> Printer --> Manage Printers

      1-upgrade

      Select upgrade firmware and click on Automatically upgrade firmware to start the process. If you already have the latest version, it will be indicated that there are no updates available.

      2-updatefirmware

      Wait until the firmware is installed, this may take a few minutes.

      3-update-firmware

      If Automatic upgrade is not working continue here

      Once the firmware is loaded, you will get a message asking you to upgrade the micro SD files on the LCD. To do it, follow these instructions.

      Updating the microSD files on the LCD it's only necessary if you are updating from v01-1.2.7 or lower.

      If you were already using v01-2.0.2 or higher, the microSD files on the LCD should already be up to date.

      Manual firmware update

      In case the Automatic upgrade is not working, you can try with a manual upgrade.

      To do this you'll have to go to BCN3D's github respoitory and download the latest firmware version in .hex format that you'll find inside the Compiled firmware folder.github firmware repository

      Once you have downloaded the file, click on Upload custom firmware and select the previously downloaded .hex file.

      Once the firmware is loaded, you will get a message asking you to upgrade the micro SD files on the LCD. To do it, follow these instructions.

      Updating the microSD files on the LCD it's only necessary if you are updating from v01-1.2.7 or lower.

      If you were already using v01-2.0.2 or higher, the microSD files on the LCD should already be up to date.
